Chalet Saint Jean
Available for your winter ski holiday is Chalet Saint Jean, a quirky renovation of an old chalet above the village of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps, directly below the Grand Terche ski resort.
With four bedrooms, the chalet sleeps up to 10 people.
Lit by a log fire, and with a scandanavian sauna, this chalet has a casual warmth to it that allows you to settle right in at home.
Also available is the studio immediately uphill from the chalet, which allows an overflow of up to 4 more people.
A comfortable and warm farmhouse conversion above the lovely village of St.Jean d'Aulps, and within walking distance of the Grande Terche ski resort all for just £900-£2000 per week in season.
Chalet Saint-Jean is a renovation of a quirky Savoyarde chalet, the upstairs is an open-plan and comfortable area with a lounge, separate games/sunroom, and a recently renovated kitchen and dining area adjacent.
The lounge has a TV with satellite freeview reception, which includes all the major UK television channels.
There is a terrace with BBQ for the essential outdoor blizzard cooking experience.
For accommodation, there are four bedrooms in total in the main chalet.
Two bedrooms are comfortable double bedrooms with en suite bath or shower rooms.
The other two bedrooms contain bunks and have access to bathroom facilities across the hall.
Also available is "Studio Uno" - a very french studio located immediately above the property and accessible through a gate in the garden fence.
This studio has an abundance of beds for the space, with two sofa-beds, a mezzanine double bed, and two fold-down beds as well.
This can be rented separately, or in addition to the main property for overflow.
The studio has it's own shower room, toilet and simple kitchen facilities, and has a TV with french reception and DVD player.
Chalet Saint-Jean is sold as self-catered. The kitchen is newly fitted and fully equipped.
There is a very large (10-12 aisle) supermarket within a 6-7 minute drive from the Chalet, for all your supplies, and two good patisseries and a mini-supermarket in the village of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps.
The village resort of Grande Terche is just a few minutes walk and features three or four popular restaurants and bars in season.
I personally recommend L'Avalanche for a great meal in the restaurant, and Ivan's Bar for a truly Savoyarde drinking experience.
Further afield, Morzine boasts an excellent range of 40-50 restaurants and bars.
Chalet Saint-Jean is located adjacent the Grande Terche ski-resort of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps, which is easily accessible on foot for restaurants, bars and amenities.
As the walk is uphill from the Chalet, we do recommend you have your own car for transporting yourselves to your daily ski.
People who stay here generally ski at either the Grande Terche lift directly adjacent, or one of the many ski lifts of nearby Morzine.
The Grande Terche/Roc d'Enfer ski area has a selection of mid-skill level runs, and is not to be missed, especially as it's so close.
Morzine is a thriving ski-hub enjoying more and more popularity each season.
With quick access via Telecabin from Morzine to Avoriaz, you can access the Portes-du-Soleil with it's 650km of piste and great off-piste.
You can also easily access the Nyon and Le Pleney ski lifts leading over to the Les Gets resort area.
Saint-Jean-d'Aulps is located 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Geneva Airport where there are many rental car companies. Alternatively we can organise private transfers for guests. Staying at this chalet, we recommend that you have your own transport.
Chalet Saint-Jean normally changes over the accommodation on Sundays, but is available for shorter breaks at pro-rata prices.
