Chalet Richebourg
Choosing to have your ski holiday at Chalet Richebourg is like coming to visit the country side of the family in France.
A traditional Savoyarde Ski Chalet in layout and decor, the hosts recreate the unique atmosphere of the country that draws so many people to holiday here, year after year.
The operators have a focus on maintaining the honesty of their welcome with a focus on traditional comforts that are often forgotten by modern accommodation.
From just £ 360 per person, per 7-days catered to get away from it all in this welcoming Country Farmhouse.
Chalet Richebourg is an example of a traditional farmhouse of this region.
It has a central fireplace and a good sized kitchen.
The lounge is warmed by the log fire, and the dining table is large enough for the biggest families.
The decor is charming and honest, with big windows letting in a lot of the alpine air and light.
The mature operators have been running the chalet for a number of years, and have found their own style of welcome.
They focus on things that really make a difference to guests, such as having a decent-sized towel, and having enough pillows on the bed and a plentiful supply of hot water.
Chalet Richebourg has four bedrooms, sharing three bathrooms.
The ground-floor bedroom has doors to the garden and is light and airy.
The upstairs front room has a balcony and a very good sized en suite bathroom.
The other two rooms share a large en suite bathroom, and are generally let as a unit to families or sharing groups.
Chalet Richebourg is sold as half-board catered.
This entails a healthy continental breakfast is served each morning to prepare you for your day of activity on the slopes.
Following your return in the private transfer van, you will be served a light après-ski repast, such as cakes and tea and coffee.
Your evening meal is honest, country fare with delicious country cooking being the focus of the staff.
Local sourced ingredients and traditional tastes are the theme, with the operator tailoring each week's menu to the tastes of the guests she has.
The evening meal is served with local, bottles of red or white wine, chosen by the operator as representative of the kind of wines that the locals would accompany the meal with.
Guests at Chalet Richebourg are provided with private mini-bus transfers to and from the slopes every day.
Chalet Richebourg is located just off the quiet main road of Le Biot.
The most convenient accessible lift is Ardent/Les Lindarets which is 15 minutes by car from the chalet.
People who stay here generally ski at either there, or one of the many ski lifts of nearby Morzine.
Morzine is a thriving ski-hub enjoying more and more popularity each season. With quick transit via Telecabin from Morzine to Avoriaz, you can access the Portes-du-Soleil with it's 650km of piste and great off-piste.
You can also easily access the Nyon and Le Pleney ski lifts leading over to the Les Gets resort area.
Closer to the Chalet are two smaller ski-areas - Le Grande Terche, which is 10 minutes by car and has a good selection of pistes, and Col du Corbier, which is also 10 minutes by car but in the other direction.
Col du Corbier leads to the Chatel resort.
Chalet Richebourg changes over on Saturdays. Please enquire about "Whole Chalet" pricing for larger groups.
