The first thing people notice about Chalet Nodrog is the amazing space. A conversion of a barn, the main floor has been kept intact at the full size it was in it's previous life. The resulting open-plan kitchen-lounge-dining area is absolutely enormous and draws the eye upward to the original beams of the roof.
The main floor of Chalet Nodrog retains the size and height of the Barn it was before conversion. A fully equipped kitchen, with it's own dining table - perfect for serving children's supper - looks onto the two main areas at the front. The extendable dining table is at one side of a windowed seating area, and the lounge area is at the other. Above both, a mezzanine area is set up with television and couch for children. There is an additional sofa-bed in this area should the group size require it.
Accommodation
Chalet Nodrog has five bedrooms spread over the two main levels. The master bedroom is on the main floor and has it's own large sized en suite bathroom. The second master bedroom is downstairs, again with en suite bathroom adjacent the sauna. The other three bedrooms line the front of the property and share the family bathroom on the same corridor.
Self-Catering or Catering
Chalet Nodrog is sold as self-catered. The kitchen is well fitted and fully equipped. There is a very large (10-12 aisle) supermarket within a 6-7 minute drive from the Chalet for all your supplies, and two good patisseries and a mini-supermarket in walking distance. The village of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps is just a few minutes walk and features two popular restaurants and an excellent English-speaking bar. Further afield, Morzine boasts an excellent range of 40-50 restaurants and bars.
Alternatively, a chef-to-chalet service could be easily organised to cater this lovely apartment. For a fixed per-person fee, a local qualified chef can make your holiday even more comfortable.
Access to all the Portes-du-Soleil
The closest ski-lift is the Grande Terche resort, above the Chalet and within a 2 minute drive. However, the recommended lift is Ardent/Les Lindarets which is 10 minutes by car from the chalet. People who stay here generally ski at either there, or one of the many ski lifts of nearby Morzine. Morzine is a thriving ski-hub enjoying more and more popularity each season. With quick transit via Telecabin from Morzine to Avoriaz, you can access the Portes-du-Soleil with it's 650km of piste and great off-piste. You can also easily access the Nyon and Le Pleney ski lifts leading over to the Les Gets resort area.
Suits self-drive
A car is required to stay at Chalet Nodrog.
Chalet Nodrog is just 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Geneva airport. Transfers to and from the airport can be happily arranged by the operator for a fixed fee.
