There's something quite peaceful about the solidity of La Vieille Ferme de la Moussière. The ancient stone walls of this farmhouse have stood watch over the village square for 300 years, dating back to before the French revolution when it was possibly the first building on a now thriving village square. New owners have tastefully and carefully updated the interior decor and fitted more modern facilities, including all en suite bathrooms, but the building has kept the atmosphere that the age gives it.
The fire-lit common area of the chalet is warm and welcoming, with ample seating for the occupancy. There is a games room complete with pool table and darts for the adults, and a games console for the children. The entire chalet is reached by wi-fi internet access. The hosts operate an honesty bar so you don't even have to leave the property for an after dinner drink. In the hedged garden outside, there is a brand new hot tub, with views of the church and surrounding mountains.
Freshly updated accommodation
The five guest bedrooms in La Vieille Ferme are all a decent size and with modern, recently renovated bathrooms en suite. All the guest bedrooms are located on the upper floor, ensuring your privacy during your stay. Each room is equipped with complimentary toiletries and hair-dryers.
Catering
La Vieille Ferme de la Moussière offers half-board to guests. Your day begins with a buffet-style continental breakfast, featuring the constant presence of cereals, yoghurts and fruits, and with a assorted juices and freshly brewed coffee. After you return from the slopes, an après ski repast will be served, usually sweets such as home-made cakes. The evening meal is four courses of traditional French and modern international flavours, prepared in the chalet by your charming chalet host and served with wine.
650km of piste awaits
The closest ski-lift is the Grande Terche resort, above the Chalet and within a 3-4 minute drive. However, the recommended lift is Ardent/Les Lindarets which is 10 minutes by car from the chalet. People who stay here generally ski at either there, or one of the many ski lifts of nearby Morzine. Morzine is a thriving ski-hub enjoying more and more popularity each season. With quick transit via Telecabin from Morzine to Avoriaz, you can access the Portes-du-Soleil with it's 650km of piste and great off-piste. You can also easily access the Nyon and Le Pleney ski lifts leading over to the Les Gets resort area.
Courtesy daily minibus transfers to piste are provided to all guests. Airport transfers are available on request.
La Vieille Ferme de la Moussière is just 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Geneva airport. Transfers to and from the airport can be happily arranged by the operator for a fixed fee.
