La Ferme de la Touviere is a unique renovation of the centuries old farmhouse that lies at the heart of the La Touviere hamlet. Situated centrally in this surrounding buildings, this enormous structure gives generous space to it's bedrooms and common areas, and has a timeless charm that cannot be matched. Operated this season by an experienced team of chef and hostess, it specialises in holidays where everything is taken care of.
The main common area spreads across the entrance level of the chalet. A generous dining area backs onto the log-fire warmed lounge, both tastefully furnished with furniture that compliments the age and charm of the old building. There is a Ultra-Violet light Sauna (a healthier alternative) on this floor as well.
Accommodation
Chalet La Touviere has four bedrooms. Each room is tastefully decorated and private. Working with an ancient structure, the bedrooms are each decorated to enhance the traditional features of the wood and stone building. The loft bedroom is particularly quirky, located behind a half-height door and under eaves with the very structure of the building in the room itself. Staying in this room you can be absorbed by the atmosphere and history of the property.
Exceptional Cuisine
A full breakfast is served each morning, to prepare you for your day's ski, including fruit, orange juice, pastries yoghurts and cereals, as well as a selection of cooked foods different each day. Typically this is something like Eggs Benedict one morning, followed by pancakes the next. Afternoon tea is served in front of the log fire when you return from the slopes to warm you up as well.
Sumptuous 6-courses
The 6-course evening meal is a lot more than you would generally expect from a Chalet. The experienced and charming Chef prepares the meals in the kitchen directly beside the dining table. The meal begins with canapés and a palate-cleanser, then treats you to a delicious starter and then the main course. The meal is concluded with hand-made desserts and a cheese course. The entire meal is served with an excellent selection of three red and three white wines and the honesty bar remains open for you each evening.
Access to all the Portes-du-Soleil
The closest ski-lift is the Grande Terche resort, across the valley from the Chalet and within a 10 minute drive. However, the recommended lift is Ardent/Les Lindarets which is 15 minutes by car. People who stay here generally ski at either there, or one of the many ski lifts of nearby Morzine. Morzine is a thriving ski-hub enjoying more and more popularity each season. With quick transit via Telecabin from Morzine to Avoriaz, you can access the Portes-du-Soleil with it's 650km of piste and great off-piste. You can also easily access the Nyon and Le Pleney ski lifts leading over to the Les Gets resort area.
Daily minibus piste transfers are provided to all guests.
Short airport transfer
Chalet La Touviere is just 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Geneva airport. Transfers to and from the airport can be happily arranged by the operator for a fixed fee.
