Chalet Gueret aims it's service at guests who are looking for a little bit more than the normal ski chalet experience. This attention to detail is evident in the immaculate bathrooms, the particularly comfortable beds, and the well above normal standard of the cuisine and service. No matter how small, no element of your stay is overlooked by your experienced hosts. For example, the showers are pump showers to ensure good water pressure and the baths are all 170cm long so you can relax in them properly after a long day. Similarly, the food service provided includes all the trimmings usually left out - such as pre-dinner drinks, a selection of wines and an open drinks cabinet.
The Chalet itself is a lovingly restored farmhouse with spacious bedrooms and decent sized bathrooms. All rooms have direct access to a balcony or terrace and those on the valley side have great views. In addition to the main dining area there is a small dining room which can be used for childrens’ meals or for meetings. The salon is enormous, offering plenty of space for the entire occupancy of the chalet to recline in comfort around the fire, and there is a charming library area with additional seating to the side, which is generously stocked with books and board games.
Chalet Gueret has a lovely outdoor terrace with a hot tub as well. There is a sauna and treatment room, in which a local masseuse can be employed to ease weary muscles. There is a games room with table tennis, Sky TV and a games console to keep the children entertained. Chalet Gueret is surrounded on three sides by open fields offering children a vast playground for tobogganing and generally messing around in the snow.
Chalet Gueret offers a superior catering service. A full, healthy, continental breakfast is provided each morning including fresh bread, cereals, fruits and yoghurt. A well earned afternoon tea is laid out for you on your return from the slopes including biscuits and home-made cakes. Your evening begins with sparkling wine and canapés by the open fire in the comfortable salon, and continues to the main dining table where you will be served a beautifully prepared four-course dinner on 6 nights of the week. The evening meal is accompanied by a selection of wines from Gueret's wine cellar. Coffee and herbal teas with petits fours are served after dinner.
Guests of Chalet Gueret enjoy private mini-bus lifts to and from the nearby ski slopes each day. Your hosts will be happy to act as ski companions, book ski school for those wishing to have lessons, or book a professional guide for those who wish to venture off-piste with peace of mind and without having to study a map every 5 minutes.
Morzine is a thriving ski-hub enjoying more and more popularity each season. People staying here can easily ski from one of the many lifts on either side of Morzine. With the high-speed bubble lift from Ardent you can quickly access Avoriaz, Chatel and the Portes-du-Soleil ski domain with it's 650km of piste and great off-piste. The Nyon and Le Pleney ski lifts are a few minutes’ drive away and serve the Morzine and Les Gets resort areas with some 50 skilifts and great skiing. The Super Morzine bubble gives alternative access the excellent skiing around Avoriaz.
Chalet Gueret overlooks the peaceful village of Essert-Romand and has magnificent views over the Morzine valley. This location allows for equally rapid transport to either Morzine's Le Pleney lifts or the Super-Morzine bubble. Sufficiently high enough to provide excellent views, it is peaceful and quiet in the evenings. There is one bar/restaurant within walking distance, La Petite Auberge which has all the local charm of a small village establishment.
The chalet is located 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from Geneva Airport where there are many rental car companies. Alternatively we can organise private transfers for guests.
