Chalet Aux Joux is a rustic and charming farmhouse in the centre of the township of Morzine. The original structure is 300 years old, pre-dating even the French revolution. Renovated with sensitivity to it's age and charms, it now features modern comforts whilst retaining all the old world charm. With six bedrooms spread out over two levels, it's rooms are flexible to suit any combination of adults, children or couples.
The main open area of the chalet extends from the kitchen and dining space to the large lounge focused on the traditional centre of the log fire. The couches are comfortable and the high ceilings of the main room really add to the charm of this old place. At night, the pistes immediately facing the chalet are lit, and you can enjoy the view of the piste, day or night. The chalet has an outdoor hot-tub in the garden which you can stare up at the stars from, and it also has a sauna inside to ease post-ski aches. The games room would make an ideal space for children to retreat to, with it's own DVD, TV and CD Player.
Chalet Aux Joux has siz bedrooms in total, four en suite bedrooms on the middle floor and two on the upper level sharing a family bath room. The main level bedrooms contain twin beds to accommodate easily any kind of group, and the upstairs bedrooms aer a bit larger and would be ideal for hiding away the children, or for mixed groups of adults.
Quality Food is Important
The chalet is sold as half-board. Your day begins with a hearty breakfast of cold and continental choices such as fruit, cereals, pastries and yoghurts, supplemented every day with a different cooked special such as pancakes, Eggs Benedict or other dishes. After your return to the chalet, you will be greeted with a freshly baked cake and other nibbles to tide you over until the dinner. Dinner is three courses served with good quality house wine, followed by a local cheese board. Special dietary requirements are happily accommodated, and children's meals are tailored to individual family needs but are always healthy and home-made.
Proximity to Piste and Transport Links
The chalet is located in the heart of Morzine itself. The walk between chalet and ski-lift takes approximately seven minutes, and can be walked easily. Alternatively, the ski-bus stop is even closer.
The chalet's location in Morzine is just under 1 hour and 15 minutes from Geneva airport by road. Transfers can be happily organised by the operator.
