Brown Bear Lodge is a purpose built ski-lodge on the edge of Morzine in the adjacent hamlet of Montriond. On a quiet cul-de-sac behind the main town-hall, it's location allows easy access to the Super-Morzine or Ardent Telecabins for your daily ski. Inside, the accommodations are everything you would expect from a chalet built to an exactingly high standard. This standard is matched by the friendly operators who will ensure your ski holiday goes smoothly.
The ground floor has a large open-plan dining and living area, decorated with the eponymous big brown bear in prime position. The chalet is slightly elevated and so there is a lovely view out of the main windows to be enjoyed while you dine. The living area is appropriately furnished for the size of the chalet, and focuses on a large open fire. For entertainment there is a flat-screen TV with appropriate electronics and an assortment of games.
Flexible Accommodation
Brown Bear Lodge has seven en suite bedrooms in total spread over the three levels of the chalet. Four of the bedrooms are over-sized triple bedrooms with fixed double beds and single beds. These are ideal for family use, or for single individuals sharing. The other bedrooms are flexible twin bedrooms. There is an even distribution of baths and showers throughout the chalet to suit any preference.
Quality Food is Important
The chalet is sold as half-board. Your day begins with a hearty breakfast of cold and continental choices such as fruit, cereals, pastries and yoghurts, supplemented every day with a different cooked special such as pancakes, Eggs Benedict or other dishes. After your return to the chalet, you will be greeted with a freshly baked cake and other nibbles to tide you over until the dinner. Dinner is three courses served with good quality house wine, followed by a local cheese board. Special dietary requirements are happily accommodated, and children's meals are tailored to individual family needs but are always healthy and home-made.
Proximity to Piste and Transport Links
The chalet is located behind the Montriond town hall. This places is just a few minutes drive from either the Super-Morzine telecabin. If you prefer, the Ardent telecabin, leading to Les Lindarets, is also easily accessible from the chalet. While the chalet is on the free ski-bus route, private mini-bus transfers are provided by your hosts on a daily basis.
The chalet is located in Montriond, this is just over 1 hour from Geneva airport by road. Transfers can be happily organised by the operator.
The chalet changes over on Sundays during season, but may be available for short-break on request for low-season weeks.
